Cristina A. Blunt

Profile & Experience

Cristina has enjoyed being a fully licensed attorney of the Florida Bar for over twenty years. She began her career as a criminal prosecutor and transitioned to civil matters where she has spent most of her career litigating and trying to verdict complex high-value civil cases throughout Florida. She is also a member of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. Cristina is certified by the Florida Supreme Court to mediate Circuit Civil, County, Family and Appellate matters in Florida. She is also an approved Federal Mediator for the Middle District of Florida and she is a qualified Arbitrator in Florida.

Cristina is originally from Miami, Florida and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. She has lived in Miami, Tallahassee, Jacksonville and most recently, Tampa Bay. Cristina has litigated and participated in hundreds of mediations in cases venued around the State of Florida. A native Floridian that is passionate about her home state, she understands the diversity and complexities of our beautiful state as well as the dynamics of its litigation. Through the years, Cristina has resolved many conflicts with what she does best – building consensus and understanding each party’s position. As an active participant in her community, she has built and led teams in both the for-profit and non-profit space. She is passionate about building consensus and encouraging others to be their best and most authentic self.

Cristina’s civil litigation experience includes personal injury and uninsured motorist claims, medical malpractice, wrongful death, nursing home litigation, first and third-party property damage, construction defect, premises liability, debt collection, negligent security, breach of contract, animal owner liability, family law, and more. She has experience on the defense and the plaintiff side of litigation. With experience in large firms, in-house insurance companies, and as a solo practitioner, Cristina can achieve resolution in both simple matters and complex high-conflict cases where it looks as if trial is the only solution left. As an experienced trial lawyer, Cristina knows that a mediation resolution is often the best outcome for both sides. Just prior to her transition to mediating full-time, Cristina was a Director and Trial Attorney for a nationally recognized insurance company in Florida.

Cristina is a proud graduate of Florida International University and Florida State University College of Law. She is also a passionate volunteer and believes in giving back to her community. She has provided pro-bono legal services to her community and has also volunteered with the Florida Guardian ad Litem, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Florida PTA, Junior League of Tampa, Junior League of Jacksonville, Metropolitan Ministries and more.  When she is not mediating cases, Cristina enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, reading, traveling, working on DIY projects, playing chess and hiking the Florida Trail.
